A British rapper and his Russian ‘girlfriend’ has been arrested after customs in Dubai discovered 17kg of marijuana in ‘their luggage’ following a holiday romance in Thailand.
Big Tobz real name Oluwatobiloba Aiyeola a rapper from London of Nigerian descent met the woman who goes by her first name of Karina while on holiday in Thailand.
According to the woman, the rapper asked her to check in the luggage, claiming it contained diving equipment.
Following Karina’s testimony to UAE authorities, Big Tobz, who travelled on the same flight with her from Thailand was also taken into custody.
The pair are now being held in a Dubai jail and are facing very serious consequences in a country that has zero tolerance for illegal drugs.
Karina’s parents are currently demanding a full forensic investigation, including fingerprint analysis of the suitcase and a review of airport CCTV footage to prove her innocence.
A souce in Dubai said “I’m not sure she has a prayer, to be honest- Even if what Karina is saying is true, everyone knows that the number one rule of international travel is to never under any circumstances check in a piece of luggage that you did not pack yourself.
” We all know how strict the UAE are when it comes to drugs. They don’t play around with the importation of drugs in the kingdom. People keep doing the same things knowing for sure there will be consequences. They just keep doing it knowing the consequences.” Adds the source ” This is so unpleasant and awful.”
